Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone! Hope you all had a nice day.

This week has been really busy for us. Last Wednesday Ant's first guests arrived and they all went on Sunday. That same day mine arrived, all very nice and enjoying a nice holiday.

We've celebrated Christmas pretty well with various nights out. Here's a picture of us on the 25th.

We had a great ski that day and met up with The Goodacres for a festive drink.
Did a few routes through the stash and snow park, with a picnic in Avoriaz before returning to Chalet Clovis to cook Christmas dinner together for our guests.

We managed to join our guests for Christmas dinner, so we didn't miss out on wearing the cracker hats!!! Here's our dinner and table.

We opened our cards and presents on Christmas eve evening, my guests very kindly brought me a nice blue scarf, perfect for out here! Will go well with my new woolly hat from Ant!!!

The snow is great, lots of it. Temperatures have risen a little but apparently snow is on its way again over the next couple of days to top us up before new year.
On Friday we went out on our snowboards with the other two girls we work with, Katie and Sarah on their skis. Brilliant fun to all be out together and enjoy a beer and plate of chips at lunch time.
It was great to Skype/Facetime all those that we did over the last few days.

Had a day off from the slopes today to let the legs recover after a few good days out there.

Speak to you all soon,
Bex

Snow, Rain and Heavy Drinking

Hey everyone! The past couple of days have been pretty busy for us preparing the chalets for guests (my first group arrive on wednesday next week, a big group of 16 people!!). All the chalets we are working in are great and yesterday Becky cooked for all the staff in her chalet, tasty rosti garlic potatoes!

I don't want to spend the whole season putting up pictures of houses covered in snow so I will get that bit out the way at the end of this post today!

So this is a view on the way to work!

I will also work on changing the look of this blog a bit later on so that it is more ours.

The weather for the first few days here was intense snow! Everything was covered in fresh white powder that was sometimes up to your waist! Since yesterday it has been raining on and off in the town but once you get on the lifts up to the slopes I have been told that it is perfectly snowy again.

GoPro have updated their camera firmware so the app for the phones will now work on it and its AMAZING! so easy to frame shots better when you have a live view of what the camera sees on your phone.

we have a whole bunch of pictures already so might make a photobucket account for us so that people who want to look at loads of pictures of snow or of us falling over can do without them being shoved down your throat on here!

The people we are working with are great and I'm sure you have seen the pictures of us all on facebook but I wanted to put one up here too.

Here is a shot of the team for this season

Last night after dinner at Becky's we dropped the car back at the apartment and walked into town to go to the dixie bar, I had a little too much and had to be carried home, safe to say that with today being our first chance to get on the slopes i was more than a little disappointed when I couldn't move more than 10 feet from my bed without needing to run to the bathroom. Ah well at least I didn't have to get up and serve breakfast today!

And here is a small bunch of pictures from our adventure so far :)

P.S. the internet broke so I had to post this a day later than when I wrote it!

See you soon

We Have Arrived!

So we left for the airport at half 4 yesterday morning bags packed to the brim with everything we could think about needing but still not all that we wanted to bring away, I left 3/4 of my wardrobe at home still!

Departure lounge at heathrow terminal 5

most of today has been spent travelling around the different locations and touring the chalets that we will be working in!

Our little apartment is fantastic! Plenty of room for the two of us with all of our skiing and snowboarding equipment.
A quick view of our apartment showing the kitchen and lounge/bedroom/dining room.

So this is just us checking in, hopefully I will be able update this fairly regularly with things about what we are doing!!

See you soon,

Ant
